Flying Mermaid

You should have seen her;
that mermaid flew
(I swear it!)
Past the Sirens that taunted her
because she was unwilling
to destroy the sailors
that passed through.
She didn't know she was beautiful,
with her silvery fins flashing,
glistening in the summer sun
and under the wintry moon.
She didn't know
that she had already seduced the world.
